National Recognition for Excellence becoming the New Normal at Lee College

Honored with the 2015 Award of Excellence for Student Success from the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), Lee College, is now a finalist in three separate categories of the 2016 AACC awards. The Baytown, Texas school, a CampusLogic customer, is up for Exemplary Board/CEO, Faculty Innovation, and Outstanding College/Corporate Partnership.

Focused on a stellar student experience

Lee is laser-focused on developing student support initiatives, from enrollment to graduation, that help more students complete their chosen academic degree or certificate—and the AACC is taking notice. Lee’s evidence-based programs help students gain better skills, employability, and economic growth.

AACC Awards of Excellence

The AACC Awards of Excellence honors community colleges that do exceptional work. This year’s winners will be announced at the association’s annual convention on April 11 in Chicago, IL. Lee is a contender in the following categories:

  • Exemplary Board/CEO Award recognizes institutions with a board of trustees and CEO that collaborate to effectively govern their community college. Lee was also a 2015 finalist in this category.
  • Faculty Innovation Award recognizes faculty of member colleges who take leadership roles in the development and implementation of programs that increase successful course and degree completions. Treva Brown-Askey, Lee’s chairwoman of Developmental Education, is nominated for Lee.
  • Outstanding College / Corporate Partnership recognizes collaboration between colleges and corporate partners that result in multi-year success to: Advance a college’s mission; Boost the economic prosperity of a community or region; and Improve student learning excellence.
