“Growth companies like ours must adopt a never-quit attitude. Winning that big contract or pushing through some difficult product design requires tenacity—and never giving up until you succeed. This attitude resonates throughout CampusLogic, and I think it leads to an enormous amount of positive energy here.”
—Colleen Shannon, Chief Financial Officer
Although Colleen is a recent addition to our executive team, she’s a veteran Chief Financial Officer with extensive fiscal, operational, and business experience. Throughout her career, she’s helped lead emerging, growth organizations and turnarounds in the fast-moving technology sector.
A graduate of Boston College, Colleen earned her certification as a public accountant while working at Ernst & Young. She has held executive finance positions at tech organizations such as ViaSoft, iLinc Communications, Lumension, and Remarkable Health—leading legal, human resources, and business operations in addition to her financial duties. In 2008 and 2009, she was a finalist in the Arizona Chapter of Financial Executives International CFO of the Year awards for emerging companies.
The ABCs of Student Finance
Among ‘the ABCs of Student Finance’ (improving accessibility, reducing student borrowing and driving down the cost of administration), Colleen points to accessibility as a significant interest of hers. “When I went to Boston College,” she says, “the tuition was a huge stretch for my parents, who were both teachers. I feel very lucky that my parents saved well—but not everyone has that option. It’s why I want to ensure the availability of financial aid and a college education for everyone.”
Life Beyond ARs, P&Ls
In her spare time, Colleen serves on the board of a local social services organization. She and her husband enjoy spending time with their two black Labradors, hiking, biking, and traveling the world—so they can cross as many places off their bucket lists as possible.
