California State University San Marcos Makes Financial Aid Mobile

CSUSM improves student experience with easy, mobile, personalized FinAid

PHOENIX, July 18, 2016 – CampusLogic announces the signing of its newest customer in the state of California: California State University San Marcos (CSUSM). “Continually improving and innovating the student experience is key to CSUSM’s core values and mission,” says Julie Lindenmeier, Director of Financial Aid at CSUSM. “Our partnership with CampusLogic will reduce student verification turnaround time, improve customer service, and streamline the entire financial aid experience.”

The public institution located in North San Diego County has an annual enrollment of over 14,000, with approximately 70 percent utilizing financial aid. CSUSM is part of The California State University (CSU) family. CSUSM is implementing StudentForms, a key component of the CampusLogic financial aid engagement platform. “Students today are always on their mobile devices,” says Lindenmeier. “Providing a convenient, electronic, mobile-optimized format for students and parents to submit necessary financial aid documents just makes sense.” Implementing StudentForms’ automated email and text alert reminders will help CSUSM streamline office efficiencies, and reduce both legwork and paperwork.

StudentForms automates FAFSA verification, professional judgments, SAP appeals, and C-code resolution processes. StudentForms also enables mobile document submission for students, and provides a student engagement portal where the entire verification process is managed digitally, facilitating student notifications, document collection, data validation and school communication. Current StudentForms users have decreased verification processing times between 50 to 90 percent, while eliminating paper workflows and improving student satisfaction. Automated student follow-up via SMS/text will further decrease the cycle time and improve the student experience.
