Utica College Taps Technology to Help Personalize, Streamline Financial Aid Process for Students, Families

Aim to simplify student financial services for students, families

UTICA, N.Y. Feb. 6, 2018 — Utica College will partner with CampusLogic, the leading student financial services platform, to streamline and improve the financial aid process for students and families. CampusLogic’s platform includes StudentFormsSM, which automates the process of completing financial aid forms, and AwardLetterSM, which provides interactive, personalized, and easy-to-understand award letters.

Utica College (UC) serves more than 3,000 undergraduates, more than 90 percent of whom receive some form of financial aid. UC is one of only 29 private institutions in New York to opt into the Enhanced Tuition Award program, which provides financial support for New York residents attending private colleges in the state.

“The founding mission of Utica College was to support students from underrepresented backgrounds or who were the first in their families to pursue higher education,” said Karolina Holl, senior associate director of Student Financial Services at Utica College. “For these students in particular, the financial aid process can often be daunting and intimidating—but technology can bring greater clarity, transparency and simplicity to the process. This platform will enable us to better serve students and families every step of the way, from application to enrollment to graduation.”

Beginning this spring semester, students and families will be able to complete financial aid forms digitally and receive online guidance through financial aid processes, all from their mobile device. Students will also receive personalized, digital award letters that provide in-depth information on aid and borrowing, and are easily updated by the college as award information changes.

CampusLogic also provides CampusMetrics, which includes analytics dashboards for financial aid leaders. The platform’s analytics will enable the college to optimize financial aid processes for families, ensuring that more students complete financial aid.
